Boxwood Architects

We have worked on three projects with Paul Coleman and Woodthorpe Construction.  The first was a commercial project [condo lobby renovation], the second was a renovation to an office to create a new kitchen for the administrative staff and the third was an interior renovation of an older condominium apartment. Paul and his crew did an excellent job on our recent basement renovation.  The basement was dug down (over 2 feet), the foundations were underpinned, plumbing, electrical and mechanics were all redone and then it was all beautifully refinished (including a very fancy new bathroom).  The project was completed efficiently, on time and on budget, with key milestones all being met.  Paul is a pleasure to work with, as was all of his crew.  They were all pleasant, skilled, helpful and great to have in our house.  Paul takes the time to plan and work through issues and problems (our house is over 100 years old so there were some hidden oddities found along the way) to make sure that the solution is safe, practical and meets design needs.  His knowledge and experience are also very key assets in a renovation project.  Paul’s sub-trades were also excellent – very knowledgeable, responsive and great to deal with.  We are so happy with our new basement – from both an aesthetics perspective as well as knowing that everything was done properly with keen attention to detail.  We are looking forward to our next project with Paul.

The project involved rejuvenating my upper floor including the addition of an ensuite bathroom, and the gutting and opening up my basement and laundry room. From a design perspective Paul has tremendous experience which keeps us informed of possible mechanical and electrical issues that may come up which is so helpful to us as it assists us in focusing on designs that will work with all codes and electrical mechanical requirements, this streamlines our design timelines which we love. Paul is great at conveying any issues to clients so that they understand the options available to solve issues on a daily basis. 

From the construction side (installations) Working with Woodthorpe makes our installations a breeze. To be a successful electrical contractor it is important to work with general contractors that are organized prepared for our requirements and have knowledge of our trade to communicate effectively with clients and all relevant trades. Woodthorpe is always cooperative, prepared and willing to resolve issues efficiently so we can get on with our work. Paul has the great ability to explain, and to make sure his clients understand the technical requirements for safe resolutions to any issues that arise. Of course all jobs are ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) permitted and are inspected. Payments from Woodthorpe are received promptly, and we appreciate that. For these reasons we are happy to respond as quickly and efficiently as possible as soon as we get a call from any of the Woodthorpe Construction crews.
